If a show has a stage production as well as a movie adaptation (or several adaptations), those will be sub-boards for that musical. Simply pick whichever one best fits your fic

Movie musicals (ex : The Greatest Showman) have their own boards just like stage productions

Regular stageplay adaptations are very case-by-case

For example, My Own Private Idaho wouldn't count because it's only very loosely based on a Shakespeare play but the 1927 Chicago movie DOES count because it's a direct adaptation of the original play
