Roxie was rather out of it.
She'd been sick for a few days. She was still performing- She and Velma had a certain amount of booked shows to do, after all, and she wasn't going to back out on any after a cold- But it left her a bit delirious by the end of each night.
If she was in a more sound state of mind, she probably wouldn't have told Velma what she considered to be sensitive information.
"You know..." the blonde said as she undressed in their hotel room before lying in the bed. Velma, who was sitting up on the same bed, looked over at her. "Roxie isn't my actual name"
"I'm sorry?"
"It's a nickname" the blonde told her, closing her eyes. Velma had to stifle a laugh. How did she not know this? "My actual name is Roxanne"
"Holy shit" Velma breathed. Roxie probably would've said more, but she'd drifted off to sleep, leaving Velma to contemplate this new information. "Roxanne Hart..." she tested the name on her tongue.
She preferred Roxie.
