Full title : The Resident Sweetheart Is Oddly Quiet Today
Chronology : Post-canon
Headcanons : Autistic!Dennis, Dennis goes nonverbal sometimes and he uses a text-to-speech app to communicate when he does, Female!Chris
Sandra went backstage to get some water. The Society was having a meeting to discuss how the play had gone and a few other relevant things (such as what to do with their broken set and Annie now wanting to be an actor). It was while she was getting water that she noticed Dennis lying on one of the couches, an exhausted expression on his face.
"Hey, Dennis" she started, capping her now-full water bottle and setting it on the ground before walking over to her friend. "Everything alright?"
Dennis opened his mouth to speak, but found himself unable to form words. Sandra smiled at him sympathetically. "You have a text-to-speech app on your phone" she reminded him. He had downloaded an app on his phone for whenever he went nonverbal, but he tended to forget so she liked to remind him. His eyes lit up as he fished out his phone from his pocket, located the app, and began typing.
'I'm very tired and burnt out' his app read out loud. Sandra nodded in understanding. 'I already talked to Chris so she wouldn't get too annoyed with me not being super involved in this meeting'
"Is there any way I can help?" Sandra asked, wanting to help ease her friend's stress in any way possible. They all loved Dennis- For as forgetful and clumsy as he could be, none of them could deny the facts. He was a sweetheart, and none of them could ever stay mad at him. So, if he was burnt out and stressed, she wanted to help.
Dennis seemed to consider this for a moment before typing into his phone. 'Could I come over to your place after the meeting?'
"Of course" Sandra agreed without hesitation. "It's a tiny bit messy, but yeah. I'd be glad to have you over. Do you wanna watch a Disney movie or something?"
'I'd like that'
