Headcanons : FTM!Dennis, Nonbinary!Annie
That night had been a sleepless one for Dennis. As exhausted as he was and as much as he craved that sweet relief of unconsciousness, his pain kept him from drifting off. He couldn't even get out of bed to get pain meds because it hurt just too bad to even move. He also didn't want to bother Annie any further, so he simply endured the pain.
The next morning, Annie went to check on him only to find him in the fetal position with his jaw clenched, a dried puddle of tears on his pillow, and dark bags under his eyes. "Oh, buddy" they said sympathetically as they went to his side. "Do you want me to get you some pain meds?"
"Please"
"Okay, hang tight" Annie soothed, getting back up and racing to the bathroom. After rummaging through their medicine cabinet, they located a bottle of ibuprofen, grabbed it, snatched a water bottle from the kitchen, and returned to Dennis' room.
After a bit of difficulty, they got him into a sitting position and he quickly downed the two pills. "I'm taking you to the ER" they told him, causing a pit to form in the bottom of his stomach. As much as he knew he needed to get checked out by a professional, he didn't want to burden his friend any further. He also didn't want to go out without his binder, but he knew Annie would never let him go to the ER still constricting his chest to that degree.
"I can't bind" he said simply, avoiding their gaze. Annie seemed to consider this for a moment before their eyes lit up.
"You could borrow one of my sports bras" they offered. "I know it's not as effective as your binder but, if you wear the hoodie over it, no one should notice anyway" they explained. "Besides, it's a lot safer"
"Alright" Dennis agreed with a sigh. "I'll meet you in the car in a moment. Can we get breakfast on the way?"
"Of course"
