Headcanon : Scott doesn't join the band
While her anxiety was nowhere near as bad as it was when they were still in high school, Olivia still struggled, especially when they were sold out. When they weren't sold out, it was easy enough to mostly block out the crowd, but the few times they'd sold all their tickets, no one shut the fuck up about it.
"Olivia, are you okay in there?" Mo asked, knocking on the bathroom door that the singer had locked herself behind.
"I can't do this" the blonde replied through gasping breaths, voice crackling slightly. Mo frowned slightly upon hearing this and tried to push open the door to no avail.
"Can you please let me in?" she requested, only getting a click of the door lock in response. Her shoulders relaxed slightly in relief as she was able to enter the bathroom, locking the door behind her since she knew Olivia probably didn't want to be found like this by anyone else. "Olivia, we've practiced this set a million times"
"B-But what if I forget the words?" the blonde worried aloud. "Or I suddenly lose my voice? God, what if-"
"Nothing like that will happen"
"How do you know?"
"You've literally never forgotten the words before, and you're not sick" Mo replied bluntly, though that did little to soothe the other girl's nerves. She silently curled up against the bass player, still shaking and taking shallow breaths. Mo held out her hand, palm up, which Olivia accepted in her own, squeezing onto it tightly in an attempt to ground herself. "Do you want to try breathing with me?"
"Please"
"Okay. You're okay" Mo assured her in a patient voice. "Just follow my lead, okay?" A nod. "In for 1, 2, 3, 4, then hold... And let it out"
They went like that for a few minutes until Olivia eventually calmed down. They heard a knock on the door, startling the both of them slightly, but relaxed when they recognized Wen's voice, letting them know that they were on in ten.
"You ready?" Mo asked with a small smile that Olivia did her best to return as she nodded.
"Ready as I'll ever be"
