"It's the kid's name I'm thinkin' about" Billy muttered. Amos had a sinking feeling in his gut like he'd just swallowed a rock.
"What kid?" he asked, his mouth dry from anxiety.
"Roxie's kid" Billy chuckled. Everything around them glitched out for a moment before Billy's voice filtered in again. "...four months prior to the incident..."
"That's right" Amos nodded, his body and mouth going as though on autopilot. "We hadn't done no copulating for four months" he confirmed. "Early fall... Hey, now wait a minute"
"But" Billy clapped and stood up. "I want you to forget all that!" he dismissed. "My client needs your support"

"You're right, I'm sorry" he muttered, pulling his knees up to his chest. "I'm sorry"
"It's okay" Billy sighed, wrapping an arm loosely around his boyfriend. "Bad dream?"
"Just a memory" Amos shrugged.
"About Roxie?"
"About you" Amos replied and Billy went rigid. "Or, well, you and Roxie, I suppose" he elaborated. "When you were telling me about the baby and the... Telling me to divorce her, all that"
"I'm sorry"
"We worked through it" Amos told him. "I'm not mad at you. It's fine"
"Well, it's not fine if you're having nightmares about it" the lawyer insisted, gaining a deep sigh from the other man.
"Please, just, drop it" Amos practically begged. Billy sighed and nodded, giving the mechanic a kiss on the forehead.
"Okay" Billy agreed timidly, unsure of how exactly to approach the situation. "I'm... Sorry" he sighed deeply. "I love ya"
"I love you too, Billy"
